Dr Colm Harney  B.A., B.Dent Sc (TCD)

Dr. Colm Harney trained as a dentist at Trinity College Dublin, graduating in 1993 with Bachelor of Dental Science. His first job was in a family practice in Northern Ireland for 3 years. He then moved to Australia for a year and worked in the hospital system – during that time he did placements in remote Cape York Aboriginal communities and also worked with the RFDS.  He returned to Europe and spent the next 8 years working in a family dental practice in London.

Colm has been at Swanbourne Dental Centre since 2007 and enjoys his broad range of practice, seeing adults and children of all ages.

Colm has worked as a tutor at UWA for Dental and Medical students as well as a clinical supervisor of Dental students at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA). He has also worked as a mediator in the field of health and disability services complaints with HaDSCO.

Colm has always enjoyed giving back to the community – he volunteered  as a Dentist in Romanian orphanages and has been an active contributor with the National Dental Foundation in Perth.

Colm is a family man with a wife and 2 beautiful children. He enjoys being outdoors,  keeping active and also has a love of travelling. His hobbies include aikido, surfing (though he admits that most of the time these days he ends up ‘sitting out the back’ enjoying the sunshine and ocean), bush walking, coaching his kids soccer teams and camping with the family.
