Dr Anusha Connaughton BDSc (UWA)

Dr Anusha Connaughton graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelors of Dental Science in 1994. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

In the initial years, she worked throughout country WA and overseas, before settling into and owning a country private practice in the Wheatbelt town of Three Springs for 17 years.  Whilst there she met her husband, Paul who is the owner of a sheep and wheat farm.

Working remotely and servicing the many surrounding country towns allowed Anusha to gain invaluable experience and skills across a wide spectrum of dental disciplines. Anusha also served as a volunteer Advanced Ambulance Officer.

Being in a close-knit country town also meant that patients were also neighbours, local shop owners and families with children attending the local school. Anusha particularly enjoys treating generations within the same family – from great- grandparents down to grandchildren – and hearing their wonderful individual stories. Working at a family friendly practice with community spirit is important to Anusha.

Although she thoroughly enjoyed her time in Three Springs, Anusha decided to move back to Perth where she grew up, for her 2 young daughters to attend a local girl’s school.

She was very excited to become the Principal Dentist of Swanbourne Dental Centre and working alongside well-respected dentists and meeting wonderful patients.

With over 25 years of experience, Anusha was a tutor in clinical skills and supervisor of final year dental students at the Western Australian Dental Health Services, on behalf of the Oral Health Centre of WA (OHCWA), from 2015 to 2019. She is also an active member of the ITI and Australian Society of Endodontology.

Besides learning to play the piano, Anusha’s interests include travelling, camping, kayaking, hiking, going to the beach and embracing the great outdoors with family and friends.
